To make your celebration or event even more special, you are free to engage the services of a caterer and. if so desired, a disco or band for music and dancing.
There are a couple of locally based caterers that we can recommend and are detailed below. Between them, Philips Food and Wild Artichokes have catered countless times on our vessels so are very familiar with the vessels and crews. You are of course more than welcome to choose another caterer or indeed to cater yourselves.
Philip Watts has lived and worked as a chef in Dartmouth since 1980 and was behind the renaissance of the 'real' food culture. He set up the first Dartmouth mini food festival in association with Food & Drink Devon, ran Powderham Castle Banqueting and has cooked at the British Embassy and British Residency in Brussels.
Philip says: "We are happy to have been associated with Dartmouth Steam Railway & River Boat Company and have many happy memories of catering regularly aboard the River Boat Fleet over the past 15 years. Aboard all our vessels you will find a fully licensed bar and, with permission, you have the right to board your own wine and/or champagne. We would need prior knowledge of the number of bottles and each bottle is subject to a corkage fee of £6.50 (£7.50 for sparkling and Champagne).
